Attheinitialstageoftheinternship,theteacherfirstdeliveredtheoreticallecturesandguidedustorecognizealltoolsandequipment.Duringtheclass,wesystematicallylearnedthedevelopmenthistory,mainclassifications,claybodypropertiesandsafeoperationspecificationsofceramicslipcasting.Distinctfromsimplehandmodeling,ceramicslipcastinglaysgreateremphasisonstandardizedprocessesofmoldforming,slipcastingandhigh-temperaturefiring,suitableformassproductionofceramicwareswithregularstructuresandsmoothoutlines,widelyappliedindaily-useceramicsandcraftornaments.Besides,weidentifiedalltoolsandequipmentrequiredintrainingonebyone,includingpugmills,plastermolds,slippouringkettles,trimmingknives,scrapers,electrickilnsandsanders.Wecarefullystudiedoperationtaboosofeachdevice,withafocusonmasteringsafeproceduresoftemperaturerise,heatpreservationandcoolingofelectrickilnstoeliminatepotentialhazardsinhigh-temperatureoperations.
